Meet Jon Mossberg, LCSW

I have been working as a licensed therapist for four years. I am experienced in working with teens and adults, both in intensive daily group therapy settings and in weekly counseling. I’ve helped clients struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, posttraumatic stress, bipolar disorder, addiction, and weight loss. I work with men and women from every background. I specialize in counseling men, teens, and the LGBTQ community.

My guiding philosophy as a therapist is that people need to be able to be fully seen and heard, and then truly accepted. It can be really hard to open up about your feelings and not feel like you have to hide a part of yourself away. That’s why I strive to create an environment of warmth and trust, so that we can make a real human connection. Once that’s established, there’s no limit to what you can accomplish. For more information about my theoretical approach, check out or section on CBT.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker –  a graduate of Vassar College and the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, both in New York. Since coming to Texas, I’ve earned my full clinical license (a process that requires over 3,000 hours of experience working with clients and 100 hours of clinical supervision classes). I am fully licensed to practice therapy independently in the state of Texas.
